The Links Golf Course was the brainchild of John Holland a long time resident of Fort St John. Back in 1988 he wanted to have a place in town where people could feel welcome, play some golf, meet some new friends and have some fun, all at reasonable prices.
Family has been the core of the golf course culture. Son’s Len and Jim worked with John and his wife Rose, to design and build the course. Working on evenings and weekends after their other jobs were finished, they cut trees, cleared brush, dug, scratched and scraped to shape the land for the next four years. They got the course open for play in the spring of 1992. Len and Rose worked in the clubhouse, while John and Len worked outside. Family members all chipped in when things were getting going. Sisters, brothers, kids, they all helped. Len’s sons Mike and Jeff grew up working both outside and in, building and maintaining the golf course. Family members are still a big part of the club, working inside and out.

Today we stay true to those roots by being a family-friendly facility where beginners and junior golfers are just welcome they are encouraged. Additionally, the course is now PET FRIENDLY.
